HIRTA – Offering free rides to food pantries, meal sites, or free meal programs during the shutdown. To schedule a ride, call 1-877-686-0029.
El Jefe (Ames) – Providing a free community meal every Monday in November. Each meal includes a combo of 2 tacos, burritos, or enchiladas, plus rice and beans.
Hy-Vee – All locations with hot food service will offer free meals to children 12 and under from 4–7 PM. Meals for others are available for $3 (dine-in or carry-out).
Taco John’s – Offering one free Community Support Special meal per guest (beef or bean burrito and junior Potato Olés) from October 31 through Sunday, November 2.
